WEAOS SUMMER BALL

B R I E F

It was a pleasure to organise the West End Office Agents Society’s annual Summer Ball again this year, a hugely popular occasion within the industry and a key fundraiser for their chosen charities.

This years theme was 1920’s Speakeasy and the iconic One Embankment was chosen as the perfect backdrop with its wood panelling and parquet flooring, wrought iron railings and grand staircases.

Having been given secret instructions and a password in the invitation, guests were greeted under Blackfriars bridge by our burly doormen and let in through a large wooden door.

Inside the stunning multi-level space was atmospherically lit by flickering candles and adorned with old barrels, pallets and crates along with table displays of wine boxes and dripping candles in bottles.

We Want Beer placards were placed around the room to bring the statement home!

As guests climbed the candlelit stairs to grab a glass of illicit bubbles they were greeted by our jazz and swing trio and 1920’s flapper troupe, The Bees Knees, who gave a stellar Charleston performance.

After a delicious feast had been served and speeches given, guests danced the night away to the incredible band playing a range of swing, funk, dance and rock on a stage dressed with black and white balloons and Kentia palms, emulating the original Cotton Club.

A Mugshot photo booth documented the guest’s felonies along with their dapper outfits, and the Bootleg Casino room opened for them to try their luck at Blackjack and Roulette against Al Capone or one of his mobster gang until the early hours.

“Thank you so much, the venue looked incredible and the evening went perfectly – mainly thanks to you coordinating the whole thing so expertly. I have had a lot of very positive feedback”
